MARC MANNING / YANN NOVAK | Pairings Dragon's Eye Recordings is pleased to announce the release of Pairings, the first full length collaboration between Marc Manning (Heavy Lids) and Yann Novak. Pairings is an exploration into a now standard formula, a traditional instrument processed by laptop. Novak and Manning choose to use the formula to explore their often similar emotional states resulting in six improvisations divided into pairs by instrument. The album moves gently through melancholic drones and ambient washes, ending in a soft flurry of fractured melodies. Crispin Spaeth gets back to basics with Wild Darling, a suite of four elegant solos created for some of Spaeth's long time collaborators - Heather Budd, Kathy Lawson, Sara Jinks - as well as a rare performance by Spaeth herself. Wild Darling also features another stunning soundtrack by Yann Novak and and costumes by Etta Lilienthal.

Widely celebrated, in 2006 Spaeth was named Most Innovative Choreographer by Seattle Magazine, and is Velocity's 2007 Artist in Residence. Described by the Stranger as "... ineffably bracing and smart", Spaeth's 17 years of work have helped to shape Seattle's thriving dance community. "Sated, proud and without regret," Crispin Spaeth Dance Group, will disband after these performances.
