Dragon’s Eye Recordings is pleased to announce Odyssey, a new work from South Korean duo 호수 HOSOO. Odyssey is a record filled with air, whirling with woodwind-like sounds, piercing currents, gently blurred pulses, and gracefully dangling bells. The album consists of two improvised sessions (tracks 1-4 and 5-6, respectively), both recorded in August 2019. During these sessions, the artists experimented with their newly acquired instrument, a Korg ARP Odyssey, which they admit they didn’t fully understand as they began. This lack of familiarity and expertise ultimately helped them develop the unconventional sounds that became the foundation of the album.
