Dragon’s Eye Recordings is excited to announce Park Kulturi, the debut EP from Russian composer and artist Genrietta. Now based in Israel, Genrietta casts an ear toward her city of origin, naming the record after Moscow’s subterranean metro station Park Kulturi—the first station of the city’s vast, mysterious, and largely off-limits underground grid. Through use of sparkling synthesis, field recordings of spaced-out concrete canyons, and suspenseful but pleasurable steady grooves, Genrietta reconstructs her memories of the atmospheres of five different Moscow locations: metro station, underground pass, power station, forest, and urban highway. Each track represents the composer’s recollections of their soundscapes and dynamics.
